Starr Family at Brighton
The clouds held off yesterday evening and despite the wind it was magical. Being English ( the Starr Family )and looking forward to another beautiful sunny Xmas, taking these photos was a pleasure. The kids had a ball and I wanted to show the beach life and love between this family so that they could send the photos back to snowy UK with love and sunshine.

Still loves Watermelon
I spent the better half of the day looking back on my old photo albums. When my babies were little and I took hundreds of photos on film. AARRGGH nothing that a scanner can't do. A little grainy but that doesn't draw you eye away from that mouth, full of sweet watermelon. I do miss those curly locks though.

Final 5
After much deliberation here are my final 5 entries into this years Canon Photo5 Competition.
At first when I received my little brown box in the mail, I thought that I would have my photos uploaded and finished in no time. Clearly I was mistaken with this fact. It was like school all over again. How was I going to create my own 5 images in accordance with each brief. And how would my interpretation differ from everyone else. So with out going into how I created each one - here they are and I can say I am proud of each. Fingers crossed the judges like them too.

grass is not always greener
....so I am finally setting up my own website. Fun, creative all my own .....and so is my portrait photo. I knew how I wanted to look and in my mind how I wanted people to see me but when it came down to picking a photo it was this photo which stood out.
Not too posed, not looking like I was trying too hard not to pose or to look like I was fine with having my photo taken and just being relaxed me. But in saying that the photo depicts ME. This is who I am and as I look at this photo it depicts how I want to capture my clients..... just being themselves.
So it is with this photo that I am introducing myself to you, to capture you as you are and not as how you think people wish to see you but as how they do SEE YOU.

Spring is nearly here
I love blossom's!
There is nothing more spring than looking at beautiful blossom's. The colours say it all and are sooo much nicer to look at than dreary grey Melbourne skies.
I have previously lived in Adelaide where I had a few blossoms trees down the street there and now, to Melbourne, I have these again.
All we need now is the sunshine to warm up the air and my daughter will be happy running around barefoot in dresses again.

City Loop Tram
I was inspired over the weekend by a photographer by the name of Irene Suchocki. She is travelling around Italy at the moment and has the most beautiful photos of the countryside and Venice. http://www.facebook.com/IreneSuchockiPhotography.
So I took myself off on my own little adventure around the city till my battery went flat.

To blog or not..
After much time wasting on the internet I have come to the realization that, " no " I do not need any of what I have put in the shopping cart at numerous websites. So I leave with a reminder that I have to start taking more photos and get Pure Images up and running. To all my friend family and to be followers - smile! :)

The sun was out this morning, yeh ! But now it gone and the cold is back.
Waiting for the spring.
These fantastic lily pads were in a hot house in the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide.

My first Blog
I never thought that I would be a blogger. After so many years I thought I would just give up trying to understand the world of computers and the vocabulary that comes with. But slowly and I mean " slowly " I am learning that the world is not so scary.
So my photography is taking off into the world of digital. I grew up in the "old school" of darkrooms and spooling your own film. I loved these aspects of photography right down to the finished product. So now I am learning all over again and finding out that I still love the whole process, even if I can't get my hands dirty. With my new camera and two great subjects of my own ( my daughter and son) I am off to find ME again.
